El Chalten y un poquito de El Calafate Glaciar Perito Moreno — one of the many massive glaciers in the area. The glacier is calving all the time so viewers will generally hear and see pieces of the ice cracking and breaking off into the water. Mucho mucho hielo Afterwards, we spent the past week in El Chalten, a small mountain town right on the doorstep of Fitz Roy and Cerro Torre. I fell in love with this place. Unlike Torres Del Paine the park is free and locals are totally willing to share beta.

The skyline of El Chalten at dusk. The backdrop to this town is unreal. Fitz Roy — We hiked up to the viewpoint only to find the peaks covered by clouds.
Finally after two hours the clouds gave us a break and the towers made their appearance. It was well worth the wait. Climbers working their way up the glacier neighboring Fitz Roy. Besides the obvious peaks, towers, and mountains to climb, there are also a ton of boulders and sport crags surrounding the town. I was just psyched to get back at it again. One of the many awesome boulders around town. This thing was sooo good! The number of boulders are endless.
There are tons easily accessible from town 5 — 10 min approach and even more as you hike deeper into the park. Sunrise at around am. I hope one day to return as a stronger climber and possibly semi-experienced alpinist and experience the classic climbs of this beautiful place.
